Product description:

A rare and enchanting piece of antique textile art, this beautifully stitched embroidery depicts two delightful rabbits in charming Edwardian dress, one carrying a parasol and the other trailing behind with a posy. Thought to date from the early 1900s, it is signed “Ada E” in red thread—possibly the work of British artist Ada E. Fussey.

The embroidery is stitched on what appears to be linen with fine silk threads and is housed in its original glazed black wood frame, bearing the label of William Sullivan, a highly regarded carver and gilder working in Bristol from the 1860’s through to 1900. Sullivan’s framing workshops—listed in respected trade directories of the time—served artists and collectors with high-quality craftsmanship, adding further provenance to this already rare and curious piece.

A unique and utterly charming item—ideal for collectors of antique children’s art, textile enthusiasts, or lovers of the nostalgic and whimsical.
