About Love Nicki x

Welcome to Love Nicki x, where the beauty of history and the enduring elegance of design come together in our unique collection of framed vintage William Morris & Co. wallpaper samples. Each piece we offer is more than just a print; it’s a cherished fragment of the Arts and Crafts movement, preserved and artfully presented to bring a touch of history into your home.

Artfully crafted

The Arts and Crafts movement, founded in the late 19th century, was a reaction against the industrialization of the Victorian era. It emphasised craftsmanship, quality materials, and designs inspired by nature—principles that are beautifully exemplified in the work of William Morris. As a visionary designer, poet, and social reformer, Morris believed that art should be accessible to all and that beauty should be a part of everyday life. His wallpaper designs, with their intricate patterns and rich colors, have become iconic symbols of this movement, celebrated for their ability to transcend time and style.

At Love Nicki x, we are honored to offer these historical designs in a way that makes them relevant and loved today. Each framed print in our collection is hand-cut to highlight its best aesthetic within the frame, ensuring that every piece is truly unique. By giving new life to these precious samples, we bring a touch of the past into modern interiors, where they can be discovered and admired once again.

The Morris & Co. Archive sample books

David Mann & Sons, a beloved Cranleigh institution, has been a cornerstone of the Surrey village since its founding in 1887. For 134 years, the family-run department store offered a wide range of goods, becoming synonymous with the community itself. Sadly, the much loved store closed in the autumn of 2021 and has been much missed by the local residents ever since.

These vintage framed William Morris wallpaper samples are carefully selected from the original Manns’ Interior department Morris & Co. Archive books following its closure. By purchasing these, you are not only acquiring a piece of iconic design history but also preserving a cherished piece of Cranleigh’s heritage.

A passion for art

As the founder and creative force behind Love Nicki x, my passion for the Arts and Crafts movement and design, in general, has been a lifelong journey. With a degree in History of Art and Design, I’ve always been fascinated by the stories that art can tell and the way it shapes our world. My career began at a Fine Art Auction House, where I was surrounded by works of beauty and craftsmanship. Today, I’m proud to work with Vintage Frog, an eclectic antique and vintage interiors store nestled in the charming Surrey Hills, where I continue to explore and celebrate design in all its forms.

Love Nicki x is the culmination of my love for the Arts and Crafts movement, my appreciation for the beauty of the past, and my desire to create something truly special.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you find a piece that speaks to you as much as it does to me.

With love, Nicki Chamarette x
