William Morris Strawberry Thief Indigo Mineral Handcrafted Card, Leaf Detail

A sweeping blue-grey leaf takes centre stage in this handcrafted Strawberry Thief card, surrounded by curling stems, olive foliage and warm ochre accents on deep indigo.

Handmade by me in Surrey using an original vintage Morris & Co. wallpaper sample, carefully cut and mounted onto a white card. The wallpaper preserves its texture and intricate detail, giving this repurposed fragment a new purpose.

Designed by William Morris in 1883, Strawberry Thief was inspired by the thrushes stealing strawberries from his garden at Kelmscott Manor. Originally created as a furnishing fabric, its birds, flowers and intertwining foliage became one of his best-known patterns. This particular cutting focuses on the flowing botanical details.

Blank inside for your own words, this individual notecard suits birthdays, thank-you notes or a handwritten hello. The front photograph shows the card you will receive.
