A yellow dust jacket and hundreds of botanical illustrations in a pocket sized guide.

This 1950s edition of Wild Flowers of the Wayside & Woodland brings British wildflowers into focus through 320 coloured illustrations. Published by Frederick Warne, it was compiled by T. H. Scott and W. J. Stokoe, based on the work of Edward Step.

Its compact format reflects its original purpose as a countryside companion. The canvas hardback binding and original yellow dust jacket give the book texture and colour, while the illustrated pages invite browsing long after a walk has ended.

Display it cover facing forward on a bookshelf, or open at a favourite botanical plate beside pottery and a small vase of seasonal stems. The yellow jacket adds warmth among darker books and wooden furniture.

A thoughtful vintage gift for a gardener, countryside walker or lover of botanical illustration.
