A cockerel silhouette in white ceramic, made for the centre of a pie.
This vintage pie funnel takes the form of a cockerel, with a plain white glaze that draws attention to its shape. The familiar farmyard bird gives a practical kitchen tool a distinctive decorative presence.
Originally designed to release steam and help support a pastry lid during baking, pie funnels combined everyday function with imaginative forms. This example stands approximately 10 cm tall, making it easy to incorporate into a small display.
Place it against a dark kitchen shelf or beside coloured mixing bowls, where the white ceramic can stand out. It also works among contemporary tableware, adding an animal silhouette without needing a whole country kitchen arrangement.
A piece of vintage kitchenalia and a thoughtful gift for someone who enjoys baking or poultry themed ceramics.
