Soft pink glaze and an expressive face, turning a sugar bowl into a character.
This vintage Tony Wood ‘Little Old Lady’ sugar bowl combines sculpted features with hand painted detail. The pink colouring gives the ceramic form warmth, bringing a playful element to an everyday piece of tableware.
Made in the Staffordshire character ware tradition, it reflects an approach to pottery where function and humour sit together. At 14 cm tall, it has enough presence to become a feature within a shelf arrangement.
Pair it with plain contemporary cups at the tea table, or display it among simpler ceramics where the face can stand out. It also works alongside other Tony Wood pieces, linking a display through character while allowing different colours and shapes to contribute.
A distinctive piece of vintage pottery for someone who enjoys personality in the small details of home.
