This small seated bear is hand carved in wood and dates from the 1920s to 1930s. His lighter wood tone brings out the carved details, while the original glass eyes give his face definition.
Made in Switzerland in the Black Forest tradition, he combines a familiar woodland subject with the individual variations of hand carving. The aged surface adds warmth without obscuring the shape and texture of the wood.
