A wren among soft green foliage - a small piece of handmade pottery for your kitchen shelf.
This vintage ceramic pie funnel was handmade by Stuart Bass in Devon and is signed “S Bass”. Its wren and foliage decoration brings a wildlife detail to an everyday baking object, originally designed to let steam escape through a pie crust. The soft natural green gives the decoration a restrained palette.
Place it beside everyday crockery or a favourite cookery book, where its small scale invites a closer look. Paired with simpler modern ceramics, the bird motif adds an unexpected detail without overwhelming the arrangement.
