A beautifully decorated Johnson Brothers Pareek Lombardy milk jug, with a warm yellow ground, scalloped rim and softly coloured floral decoration.

This elegant English milk jug combines a practical tableware form with the decorative charm of early twentieth century china. The warm yellow glaze provides a lovely setting for the hand coloured flowers, while the scalloped rim and delicate black and gold detailing add further interest.

Part of the Johnson Brothers Pareek range, the Lombardy pattern is particularly appealing for its combination of colourful floral decoration and distinctive period styling. This piece has the gentle cottage character often associated with traditional English tableware, while its generous size gives it a useful presence on the breakfast or tea table.

The floral palette of yellow, pink, blue and cream has a softly nostalgic quality, making the jug equally enjoyable as a piece of tableware or simply displayed amongst other vintage ceramics. The subtle signs of age, including gentle crazing and slight fading to the black rim, add to its sense of history without detracting from the overall appearance.

A lovely piece of English tableware with warm colour, pretty floral detail and the enduring charm of Johnson Brothers ceramics.
