Vintage German Celluloid Boy Doll with Original Clothing, c.1920s to 1930s

This pre war German boy doll dates from the 1920s to 1930s and retains his original outfit. A green waistcoat, red trousers and striped neckerchief bring colour to his small frame, finished with a brown hat and black boots.

His lightweight celluloid form has moulded hair and painted facial details. The combination of shaped features and fabric clothing gives him texture and individuality, with fading and minor fraying recording his age.

At 10.5 cm tall, he fits easily into a small display cabinet or onto a shelf beside old photographs and miniature objects. His colourful costume offers an unexpected detail among contemporary ceramics and books.
