A lovely vintage Denby Manor Green pie funnel in the distinctive glossy sage green glaze associated with this classic British pottery range.

Dating from around the 1950s, this stoneware baking accessory combines the practical traditions of British home cooking with the understated beauty of Denby ceramics. Pie funnels were designed to release steam from homemade pies as they baked, helping pastry cook evenly while becoming a familiar and much-loved feature of the traditional kitchen.

The Manor Green glaze gives this little piece a wonderfully tactile quality, with its soft sage colouring and gentle vintage character. Although originally made for practical use, pie funnels have become increasingly appreciated as pieces of kitchenalia in their own right, particularly by collectors of British pottery and traditional baking accessories.

Small enough to display almost anywhere, it would sit beautifully on an open shelf, amongst other Denby pieces or as part of a collection of vintage kitchen curiosities. A lovely example of an everyday object designed to be both useful and made to last.

A quietly charming piece of mid-century Denby, bringing a little British kitchen history to your collection.
