Working clothes, worn paint and a moving arm - a miniature milkman caught mid-delivery.
This vintage lead milkman figure was made by Britains Ltd and dates to the mid 20th century or earlier. His hand painted clothing and articulated arm give a familiar working figure a sense of movement, while paint loss reveals the surface beneath and records years of handling.
At 5.5 cm high, he adds an unexpected human detail to a small display niche or glazed cabinet. Set him beside books or a simple modern object, with enough space around him for the pose and painted details to stand out.
