Glossy black ceramic and a bright yellow beak, made for the pie dish and worth a place on the shelf.
This vintage ceramic pie bird combines a familiar bird silhouette with a bold contrast of black and yellow. Its glossy finish catches the light, giving the small form definition among larger kitchen pieces.
Pie birds were designed to release steam through the pastry as a pie baked. Their animal shapes brought a playful detail to a practical kitchen tool, and this example retains that straightforward appeal.
Display it beside cookbooks, mixing bowls or a favourite vintage tin. At approximately 9.5 cm tall, it fits easily into a kitchen shelf arrangement, adding a small sculptural detail alongside contemporary tableware.
An accessible piece of vintage kitchenalia and a thoughtful gift for someone who enjoys baking or bird shaped ceramics.
