This vintage Beswick Lady Mouse captures the dressed mouse from Beatrix Potter’s The Tailor of Gloucester. Her white gown has delicate yellow edging, with blue spotted sleeves and blue and purple details on her bonnet. The hand painted decoration draws attention to the folds and shape of her costume.
Originally modelled by Arthur Gredington, the design was first introduced in 1950. This example dates from the 1970s and carries the BP 3a brown line backstamp, with the painted mark 68 on the base.
