Vintage Beswick Cottage Butter Dish with Teal Roof, 1969

A miniature cottage whose teal roof lifts away to reveal the butter dish.

This 1969 Beswick butter dish turns everyday tableware into a small architectural scene. Teal, yellow, brown and white bring colour to the cottage form, with floral details adding interest around the sides.

Made in England and bearing the Beswick stamp, it combines decorative modelling with practical design. The removable roof serves as the lid, keeping the cottage shape intact when the dish is closed.

Pair it with plain contemporary plates on a breakfast table, or display it beside mugs and cookbooks on an open kitchen shelf. The teal roof provides a strong accent among neutral pottery and warm wood.

An unusual piece of British tableware and a thoughtful vintage gift for someone who enjoys ceramics with personality.
