A broad grin, glossy black glaze and an oversized red bow - a cat with a little theatrical flair.
This vintage ceramic cat decanter was made in England during the 1950s and retains its original cork stopper. The exaggerated bow and painted expression turn a practical drinks vessel into a distinctive character, with the bright red decoration standing out against the deep black glaze.
Place him on a drinks cabinet or sideboard alongside simple glassware, where his silhouette adds an unexpected detail. He also works among modern ceramics on open shelving, bringing humour and a dark accent without needing a whole vintage arrangement around him.
