A gentleman in a bowler hat and a flash of apple green - two small objects with unexpected personality.
These antique wooden spinning tops date from approximately 1910–1920. One has an apple green and white polka dot finish; the other’s stem is hand carved and painted as a gentleman’s head, complete with bowler hat. Worn paint and aged wood give each its own texture.
Display them together beside books or against simple modern ceramics, where their contrasting shapes and painted details can catch the eye. Their small scale brings a touch of eccentricity to a shelf without taking up much space.
