Product description:

This 1920s Mellor’s Mustard ceramic pot is a rare piece of antique kitchenalia, perfect for collectors of vintage advertising and condiment jars. Made from stoneware, the small mustard pot features its original orange branding with striped detailing on a classic white ceramic body. Measuring approximately 5.7cm tall x 4.3cm in diameter, it is in good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks, only expected signs of age. A must-have for lovers of collectable mustard pots, Mellor’s memorabilia, or vintage kitchenware. Displays beautifully as a collectable condiment jar or decorative antique kitchen piece

Mellor’s Mustard was founded in 1924 in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, initially producing only mustard. Despite early struggles in a town known for engineering and textiles, the business grew under Malcolm Foster, who became Managing Director in 1938. With a family background in mustard manufacturing, he helped establish Mellor’s as a recognised name. Over time, the company unexpectedly found success in mint production, eventually becoming the UK’s largest buyer of fresh mint. The factory’s operations left a lasting impression on Brighouse, with the scent of mint filling the air. Mellor’s was eventually acquired by a multinational company, and the brand faded into history.
