Product description:

A truly special find, this Antique Grimwades Nursery Ware milk jug features the delightful and now-scarce “Bon Soir” black cats design -  part of a whimsical early 20th century series by Grimwades of Stoke-on-Trent. Depicting two charming French felines, one dressed in a red bow and carrying a cane, the other coyly sitting with a pale blue ribbon, the illustration captures a sweet exchange of evening greetings. Finished with a grassy green base and scalloped green rim, this collectible jug is brimming with storybook charm.

Originally part of a rare nursery and breakfast set collection dating from around 1900, these jugs were cherished by children and often used in teddy tea parties. This particular jug is made from glazed earthenware or porcelain with transfer-printed decoration and hand-painted accents. A must-have for collectors of antique children’s tableware, animal-themed ceramics, or lovers of curious and quaint home décor.
