A charming original Grecon miniature dollhouse figure, produced in England during the mid 20th century and attributed to the celebrated work of Grete Cohn. Founded by the German Jewish refugee maker who brought her craft to London in the 1930s, Grecon dolls became renowned for their expressive faces, delicate construction, and beautifully considered costumes.

This example is likely to date from the 1950s, a period when Grecon figures were widely admired for their character and quality. The doll features a finely modelled composition head with hand painted facial details, a soft cloth body and articulated wire construction typical of Grecon production. She is dressed in her original floral outfit and finished with charming metal shoes, with soft blonde hair accented by small red floral details. A delightful and increasingly collectable piece of British dollhouse history.
