Artist biography:

George Brant Bridgman (1865–1943) was a celebrated Canadian-American painter and one of the most respected anatomy teachers of the 20th century. He trained in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts and later taught at the Art Students League of New York, where his distinctive approach to figure drawing shaped the careers of countless artists, including Will Eisner and Norman Rockwell. His anatomy books remain essential references for students of art worldwide.
