Britains 1920s Small Black Pig Tiny Lead Farm Figure

A wonderfully tiny 1920s Britains black pig in hand painted lead, measuring just 2 cm long with a compact standing form and plenty of character despite its minute scale.

At only 1.25 cm high, this is an exceptionally small early Britains farm animal. The simple standing pose and dark painted finish give it a surprisingly expressive presence, while the tiny proportions make the careful modelling all the more appealing.

Produced by Britains Ltd during the 1920s, this little pig comes from the early years of the company’s farm figure production, when familiar countryside animals were recreated in remarkably small scale. The hand painted finish has naturally aged over time, giving the surface an authentic patina and individuality.
