Britains 1920s Sitting Dog Tiny Lead Farm Figure
Couldn't load pickup availability
A wonderfully tiny 1920s Britains sitting dog in hand painted lead, with a compact seated pose and small black collar detail that gives this little farm figure plenty of character.
Made by Britains Ltd during the early years of its farm figure production, this miniature dog is just 2 cm high. Despite its diminutive scale, the seated form and painted detail give it a surprisingly expressive presence.
The simple pose captures the familiar role of dogs around the traditional farmyard, while the original hand painted finish has naturally mellowed with age. Its tiny proportions make it particularly appealing alongside larger Britains figures, creating a lovely sense of scale within an early farm scene.
Dating from the 1920s, it offers a charming glimpse into the early development of Britains miniature farm figures, when everyday rural life was translated into small lead models with remarkable economy and character.
A tiny but beautifully characterful piece of early Britains farm history.
