A characterful 1920s Britains Land Girl figure in hollow cast lead, dressed for rural work with an articulated arm and original green painted base.

Made by Britains Ltd as part of the Model Home Farm Series, this tiny figure represents one of the working characters of Britain’s countryside. Her practical clothing and sturdy pose give her an unmistakable sense of purpose, while the articulated right arm swivels at the shoulder, adding movement and a lovely touch of early figure making craftsmanship.

Dating from the 1920s, she comes from the early period of Britains’ farm figures, when miniature models brought the people and animals of rural life into small scale form. The original green painted lead stand remains beneath her, adding to the character of this early example.

The figure also carries a wider story. The Land Girls became an important part of Britain’s agricultural heritage, particularly through the Women’s Land Army, whose work supported farms and food production during periods of national change.
