Britains 1920s Chicks Pair Tiny Lead Farm Bird Figures

A wonderfully tiny pair of 1920s Britains chicks in hand painted lead, each measuring just 1 cm long and barely half a centimetre high.

Their minute scale makes this matching pair particularly unusual. At just 0.5 cm high, these little chicks are among the smallest Britains farm figures, yet they retain enough form and painted detail to give each one its own character.

Made by Britains Ltd during the 1920s, the pair comes from the early farm range, when familiar animals were recreated in miniature to bring larger rural scenes to life. Their hand painted finish has naturally worn with age, adding a softly aged appearance to these tiny survivors.
