Antique Ornate Gilt Gesso Picture Frame, 27 × 23 cm

Raised corner detailing and warm gilt, softened by age.

This antique gilt gesso picture frame combines ornate moulded decoration with a compact rectangular form. The raised details give the border depth, while variations in the gold finish bring texture to its surface.

Areas of gilt loss reveal its age and lend individuality to the decoration. Its portrait proportions offer a setting for a favourite photograph, small drawing or printed illustration, with glazing fitted to suit.

Pair it with contemporary artwork for a contrast between the detailed frame and a simpler image. It also works among plain wooden frames on a gallery wall, or displayed empty where its outline and ornament become the focus.

A decorative antique frame for adding warmth and texture to a personal display.
