Antique Dark Wood Picture Frame with Ornate Metal Corners

Dark timber and decorative metal corners, with the texture of an aged surface.

This antique picture frame combines richly coloured wood with ornate metal embellishments. The contrast between the timber and metal gives the rectangular form definition, while surface marks and worn corners add to its individual appearance.

Sold without glass or backing, it offers scope for a personal framing project. Fit it with a favourite photograph, contemporary drawing or mirror insert, with the fittings chosen to suit. The original hanging fixture is present but needs replacing.

Its dark finish works well among lighter wooden frames or against a boldly painted wall. Display it in portrait or landscape orientation, allowing the corner details to bring an unexpected accent to a modern gallery wall.

A distinctive antique frame ready for a new image and a new setting.
