Antique 1930s German Celluloid Boy Doll Original Clothing

A charming pre war German boy doll in celluloid, dating from the 1920s to 1930s and retaining his original felt clothing, moulded hair and painted details.

This little boy is a lovely example of early twentieth century German doll making, created at a time when celluloid was becoming a popular material for producing lightweight dolls with carefully moulded features.

His moulded hair, painted details and simple expression give him a wonderfully individual character, while the original felt clothing adds an important sense of authenticity. The gentle fading and signs of age make him feel very much like a survivor from another era rather than a later decorative reproduction.
