1950s Britains Zoo Series Mountain Goat Flat Lead Figure

A poised mountain goat in soft grey, its character captured in a distinctive flat silhouette.

This original 1950s mountain goat was made by Britains Ltd for its Zoo Series. The flat cast lead form gives it a graphic outline, with the stance suggesting the sure footed animal it represents.

At 4.5 cm tall, the figure offers detail on a compact scale. Its appeal might come from memories of a childhood animal set, a love of mountain wildlife or simply an appreciation of its sculptural shape.

Display it side on in a printer’s tray, small cabinet or miniature zoo scene. The muted grey finish works easily beside natural wood and contemporary ceramics, while a plain background lets the profile stand out.

A British animal miniature with a balanced pose and a naturally worn finish.
