1930s Cadbury Cococub Will Mouse Lead Figure, Britains

A tiny mouse with an expressive shape and a distinctly timeworn surface.

This original 1930s Will Mouse figure was made by Britains Ltd for Cadbury’s Cococub series. Cast in hollow lead, he retains traces of his original painted detail, with heavy paint wear giving him an understated appearance.

The Cococub characters were created by British illustrator Ernest Aris. Issued in pre war Cadbury Bournville Cocoa tins, the figures brought his illustrated animals into everyday homes as part of Cadbury’s advertising.

At just 3.5 cm tall, Will adds a small storybook detail to a printer’s tray or cabinet. Place him beside miniature books or a simple ceramic vessel, allowing his expressive outline and worn surface to provide the interest.

A modestly sized piece of British advertising history with an individual, aged finish.
