This original Nutty Squirrel figure was produced by Britains for Cadbury Bournville during the 1930s. Hand painted in a warm reddish brown, this tiny squirrel has a simple, expressive design that gives her plenty of personality despite her diminutive size.
The Cococubs were part of Cadbury’s imaginative advertising during the 1930s, introducing a cast of named characters connected with Cadbury cocoa. The miniature figures brought these characters into the everyday world of children, combining playful storytelling with the craftsmanship of early British lead figures.
