1930s Cadbury Cococub Dumpy Doo Duck Lead Figure, Britains

With his wonderfully memorable name and bright little details, Dumpy Doo Duck brings a playful touch to the world of the 1930s Cadbury Cococubs.

This original Dumpy Doo Duck figure was produced as part of Cadbury Bournville's Cococub promotional range during the 1930s. Cast in hollow lead and hand painted with yellow and red detailing, he is a small but wonderfully expressive character with an unmistakable period appearance.

The Cococubs were created around Cadbury's cocoa advertising during the 1930s, introducing children to a cast of named characters with their own distinctive personalities. The miniature figures brought this imaginative world to life and are a lovely reflection of the relationship between advertising, illustration and childhood during the period.

Dumpy Doo Duck has an authentically aged finish, with gentle paint wear and a softly dulled surface that reflect his long history. His compact size and cheerful colouring make him particularly appealing displayed alongside other Cococubs, vintage toys or small British curiosities.
