A striking little figure in black, Dan Crow is a wonderfully understated character from the imaginative world of the 1930s Cadbury Cococubs.

This original Dan Crow figure dates from the 1930s and was designed by renowned British illustrator and character designer Ernest Aris for Cadbury Bournville. Produced by Britains Ltd and hand painted in black with period detailing, he has a wonderfully distinctive appearance and a simplicity that suits his character.

The Cococubs formed part of Cadbury’s imaginative advertising during the 1930s, bringing a cast of named characters into the world of Cadbury cocoa. Ernest Aris helped give many of these characters their recognisable personalities, combining illustration and storytelling with the small scale craftsmanship of the figures themselves.

Dan Crow has retained his original painted finish, with expected signs of age that give the surface an authentic period appearance.
