The blue suited version of one of the most familiar Cococub characters, a tiny piece of 1930s Cadbury advertising with plenty of personality.
This original Brother Rabbit figure dates from the 1930s and was produced as part of Cadbury Bournville’s Cococub promotional range. Cast in painted lead alloy and dressed in a distinctive blue outfit with a crisp white collar, he is a particularly appealing example of these miniature character figures.
The Cococubs brought a whole cast of personalities into Cadbury’s advertising, creating a playful world around its cocoa products. Their small figures were designed to be kept and enjoyed, offering children a tangible connection to the characters and stories associated with the brand.
Brother Rabbit’s blue clothing gives this example a lovely period appearance, with the original painted finish showing gentle signs of age. His tiny scale makes him especially enjoyable to display amongst other Cococubs, vintage toys or a collection of small curiosities.
A quietly nostalgic piece of British confectionery history, with the sort of tiny details that reward a closer look.
