A tan smock, country hat and red neckerchief bring this miniature farm worker to life.
This original 1930s Britains carter belongs to the Model Home Farm Series. Hand painted in hollow cast lead, he retains his green painted base. His articulated right arm was designed to swivel at the shoulder and is currently detached.
The figure suggests a whole countryside scene in miniature, whether he recalls a childhood farm set or appeals for his traditional clothing and expressive stance.
Display him in a small cabinet, printer’s tray or farm diorama. Beside countryside books and contemporary pottery, his small scale adds an unexpected human detail.
A rural working character with individual painted details and a history of his own.
