A headscarf, a walking stick and plenty of character in miniature.
This original 1930s Henrietta Fussy Feathers figure was made by Britains Ltd for Cadbury’s Cococub series. Cast in hollow lead and originally hand painted, she has distinctive details that remain visible despite considerable wear to her painted finish.
The Cococub characters were created by British illustrator Ernest Aris. Issued in pre war Cadbury Bournville Cocoa tins, the figures brought his illustrated animals into everyday homes as part of Cadbury’s advertising.
Henrietta’s worn surface gives her a muted appearance that sits easily beside aged wood, old books and contemporary ceramics. Display her in a printer’s tray or small cabinet where her headscarf and walking stick can be appreciated up close.
An expressive miniature linking British illustration, advertising and everyday history.
