This original 1920s bull was made by John Hill & Co in hollow cast lead. Its hand painted finish has worn with age, while the stamped marking “COPYRT ENGLAND HILL & CO” connects the figure directly to its maker.
At 9.5 cm long, it is larger than many small farm animals from the period. The strong modelling makes it an appealing individual piece, whether it recalls a childhood toy farm or a personal connection to agricultural life.
