A softly painted countryside scene, still held in its original green frame.
Dated 1904, this original Edwardian watercolour captures a landscape in a restrained, atmospheric style. The handwritten date provides a direct connection to the moment the work was created, more than a century ago.
The original green painted wooden frame forms part of its appeal. Worn edges and natural patina add texture around the softer painted scene, while the original glass remains in place.
Hang it above a console, beside a reading chair or among drawings and landscape prints. Its landscape format works well over smaller furniture, with the green frame offering a subtle colour connection to plants, textiles and contemporary ceramics.
An original countryside view with the individuality of its period frame.
