Its wren and foliage decoration brings a wildlife detail to an everyday baking object, originally designed to let steam escape through a pie crust. The soft natural green gives the decoration a restrained palette.

Place it beside everyday crockery or a favourite cookery book, where its small scale invites a closer look. Paired with simpler modern ceramics, the bird motif adds an unexpected detail without overwhelming the arrangement.

Details & dimensions

Handmade ceramic pie funnel
Maker: Stuart Bass, Devon, England
Signed “S Bass”
Wren and foliage decoration in soft green

Height: approximately 9 cm
Width: approximately 5 cm

Condition

Excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks.
