Originally designed to release steam from pies, its broad base and raised chimney give it a compact, sculptural form. The glossy mustard glaze brings warmth to an otherwise practical kitchen object.

Place it among everyday crockery or beside a favourite cookery book, where the yellow adds a distinct accent. Its simple shape works alongside modern ceramics, pale shelving or darker kitchen finishes without needing an elaborate display.

Details & dimensions

Vintage pie funnel / pie vent
Maker: Nutbrown; maker’s mark present
Date: approximately 1940s–1950s
Ironstone with mustard yellow glaze

Height: 7.5 cm
Diameter: 6 cm

Condition

Good vintage condition, with small chips to the base and a minor manufacturing imperfection at the top rim.
