Nursery rhyme-inspired illustrations and humorous text decorate its surface, bringing an eccentric detail to an everyday household vessel. The decoration rewards a closer look, with different scenes visible as the pot is turned.

Use it as a decorative outer pot for a houseplant in its own nursery container, letting the foliage contrast with the illustrated ceramic. Its generous proportions also give it presence displayed alone on a sideboard or beside simpler modern pottery.

Details & dimensions

Vintage chamber pot / novelty ware
Maker: Arthur Wood & Son
Origin: Staffordshire, England
Date: approximately 1930s–1940s
Ceramic with illustrated scenes and humorous text
Suitable for decorative display or use as an outer planter

Height: 13 cm
Top diameter: 26 cm
Base diameter: 22 cm

Condition

Good vintage condition, with surface wear and some age related fading to the decoration.
